Rev. Dr. Glenn Prescott - Glenn was born in Nebraska, but his formative years were spent in Maine. Glenn attended the University of Maine (Orono) and completed his Masters of Divinity degree at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now called Palmer Seminary) in 1982. He received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2004. Before being called to IBC as Pastor in 1999, Glenn served as Pastor of the Owl’s Head Baptist Church in Owl’s Head, Maine and as the Associate Pastor of the Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn, Maine. Glenn has been married to his wife Dori for almost thirty years and they have two adult children, Jamie and Abbie, and two grandchildren, Devon and Caedon. The Prescotts live in Rowley. Please note that Pastor Glenn and Dori are on sabbatical until September 3rd.
Youth Pastor Calvin Park - Calvin began as Youth Pastor in the summer of 2007. He and wife Mandy currently attend Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and they both also attended Davis College in Binghamton, NY. Calvin and Mandy have been married for 3 years. Calvin's stomping grounds growing up were equal parts in Maryland and Pennsylvania. As part of his studies, Calvin will be a mentored minister at IBC beginning in Spring 2008. When not hanging out with students or parsing Hebrew verbs, Calvin enjoys increasing his knowledge of Linux and reading both scholarly books & periodicals, as well as fantasy literature.
Interim Pastor Kelly Legg - Kelly is a student at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, working on a Master's in Divinity. She previously attended Washington and Lee University in Virginia, obtaining a BA in comparative religion and sociology. During the spring of 2008, Kelly is serving as a chaplain intern at Beverly Hospital. She will be filling in as interim pastor this summer while Glenn is on sabbatical.
Choir Director Dori Prescott - Dori has a great love for music and has been playing piano since childhood. She has filled in as church pianist as needed and served as choir director for several years. Dori passed on her love of music to her children and grandchildren, and enjoys listening to grandson Devon practicing piano and saxophone. She recently graduated from Salem State College with a Master's in Social Work and is looking forward to this summer's sabbatical.
Pianist Karla Courage - Karla was previously a member of IBC 14 years and after several years in Pennsylvania, moved back to the Ipswich area five years ago. She is the proud mother of five children: Tim and wife Lisa, Kristina, Joe, Caleb, and Abigail; and grandmother to baby Kristin. Karla has served as pianist at several other churches, but she is delighted to be back at IBC with her "family". In addition to piano, Karla also plays the guitar, flute, organ, egg-shaker and sings. In her "other" life, Karla works as an in-home caregiver and in the office of a motel, plus she likes to square dance.
